INVISIBLE MAN
Chris McElroen's world premiere production of Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man in Chicago, Washington DC & Boston.
"I am an invisible man" starts the soul-searching, identity-bending world premiere production of Ralph Ellison’s landmark American novel. The projection design plays an integral role in crafting the interior and exterior life of the protagonist in the ambitious production with content culled from thousands of hours of archival footage, art, and photography remixed and repurposed.

CHAOS MANOR
A site-specific immersive installation spanning half a block, four stories high, in Brooklyn, NY.
Chaos Manor was a multimedia installation using the Invisible Dog Arts Center in Brooklyn as an instrument to play the story of iconic photo journalist W. Eugene Smith, and his particular American moment, by sampling the 10,000 photographs and hundreds of hours of audio recordings he made at 821 Sixth Avenue between 1957 - 1964.
The exterior of the building was mapped with archival imagery and animation while layers of recorded and live sound and video were woven inside twenty-two windows. Rear projections within each window created stunning depth telling the story of the inhabitants.

LA CASA DE LOS ESPIRITUS
Multi-year award-winning run in New York and productions in Washington DC, Chile, and Costa Rica.
La Casa de los Espiritus is Caridad Svich’s deeply entertaining, heart-breaking and surprising adaption of Isabelle Allende’s novel. The production, originally performed at Repertorio Espanol directed by long-time Koch-collaborator Jose Zayas, has toured throughout Chile and played sold-out houses in Santiago, Chile, Washington, DC, and San Jose, Costa Rica. It is appropriate that a play spanning generations and parsing interpretations of morality, unique personality and love should have so many incarnations; each has been an opportunity to reexamine the relationship of projection to actors as a story-telling medium with a definitive point of view.
The GALA Theatre production was featured in the 2013 May/June issue of American Theatre Magazine.
